They had me at “4-day wine-tasting tour”. Although I had already spent nearly a month in South Africa at this point, most of my trip had been restricted to Cape Town and the surrounding area. My projects with Reveler Tours were the first genuine glimpses I had at a wilder, more diverse South Africa. Some time spent in the Winelands, then a night in the mountains, followed by more wineries in unbelievably beautiful places, my first trip with Reveler Tours was better than I could have imagined. We agreed to do another project almost immediately after the first one wrapped up, this time starting in the Garden Route, hitting up the famed Karoo of South Africa, and driving through the stunning Outeniqua Pass.
South Africa had captivated my intrigue and my heart at this point. Although I had only been wielding a camera for a couple of months at this point, each minute more I spent in South Africa had me feeling more and more excited to shoot. There was something new about every day. Most days, I had no idea what it would be but I was ready for each challenge and adventure regardless.
